What we're loving during the last, darkest days of the year

Here we are in December, with a few weeks left of 2024. These are the darkest days leading up to winter solstice, and while the 10 day forecast is looking uninspired, we hope for some white stuff to fall and elevate the coziness as we head towards the end of the year. Meanwhile, we’re making the most of our 6ish hours of daylight, skating on the lake in town, going on beach walks, stringing up lights, cooking warming meals and getting into the holiday spirit.

Our team is just starting to feel a little relief after the big annual push of small business holidays; our three fulfillment teammates are working incredibly hard, packing up gorgeous orders of frozen fish, tinned and smoked salmon, gear and other gifts in our Homer warehouse. We try to keep them fueled with coffee and cookies between trips to the post office, and are so lucky to have such young, bright Homer-grown individuals in our crew!
