Welcome to the Salmon Sisters Substack.

This newsletter is written by Emma and Claire, real life sisters and fishermen who own the small business Salmon Sisters (est. 2012). We live in Homer, Alaska (Dena’ina and Alutiiq (Sugpiaq) land) with our family and spend our summers at sea, harvesting wild salmon and halibut. Living in Alaska and working on the water has given our lives a seasonal rhythm and connection to place that we are grateful for every day.

This newsletter is a place where we hope to share some of the things that are meaningful to us, outside social posts and marketing emails. It’s a place where we explore the creation of our cookbooks, share the seasonal harvest and our family’s favorite recipes, stories from the fishing grounds, books we’re reading, art we’re making, a behind the scenes look at new projects, and our inspirations big and small. We hope you join us as we share a little of our lives in Alaska and the special details that go into the making of our business.
